Apple Cider Vinegar: The Miracle Condiment!

Never think of apple cider vinegar as just a condiment again! If you have pets, farm animals, or humans in your family, you should stock this stuff by the gallons!

I was first turned onto apple cider vinegar by a friend who consumes it by the cupfuls every day. This man does NOT take good care of himself, he overeats constantly, never exercises, and is at least 100 pounds overweight, yet, he is amazingly HEALTHY! At 56 years old, most people with his life style take fistfuls of pills to help them get through the day. They typically have problems with high blood pressure, heart problems, breathing problems, hair loss, arthritis, blood sugar issues, and so on. Not this guy. In a family full of bald guys, he has got relatively thick hair. His heart, blood pressure, blood sugar, joints, and all other major organs are in pretty good health. He swears that apple cider vinegar is what keeps him together.

This led me to do some research into this miracle condiment! Being convinced that God has placed everything we need under the sun, I avoid chemically created drugs whenever possible. Being an animal lover, I am careful to give as special of attention to their health and well-being as I do my human family. My dogs are very much a part of our homestead. The problem we have had with fleas over the years virtually vanished when I learned that apple cider vinegar, when added to their drinking water, changed their pH levels making them not so tasty for those annoying little itch factories to feast on. I soon learned that spraying diluted apple cider vinegar onto their coats makes them repel other annoying critters, such as ticks, flies, and other external parasites and fungus.

If apple cider vinegar worked so well on humans and dogs, I knew that it had to work just as well on other animals as well, so I started to search out the Internet for other usages, starting with how it could help my horses. What I found was mind blowing!

I first started supplementing my horses water and feed with apple cider vinegar. I combined this with adding apple cider vinegar to the final rinse water when bathing them and spraying them with a diluted apple cider vinegar solution. I could not believe the instant change in the environment: flies STAYED AWAY FROM MY HORSES! I now spray down their stalls with a mixture of apple cider vinegar, standard Pinesol, and water. The flies now stay away from their stalls for the most part. Also, their coats got even shinier and healthier than they had been before.

The biggest selling point on the value of apple cider vinegar came from the major effect it had on a mare I had rescued. This old gal had been completely neglected for years. Most people would have wanted to just put her out of her misery, but she had a spirit in her eyes that made me think she was worth the effort and bringing her back. I started immediately using apple cider vinegar as a strong part of her daily care. Within days, her hair stopped falling out and actually has filled in to a nice shiny coat within just a couple months. When I first got her, she always seemed that she was in pain. I knew she had arthritis, so I never thought she would be anything more than a pet, but the use of apple cider vinegar has alleviated a great deal of the swelling, and she now trots proudly. She's still got a way to go, but I think she might even improve to the point of being able to take her out for an occasional pleasure ride. Also, her hooves, eyes, main and tail have all shown drastic improvements. Typically, I would have spent a small fortune on specialized ointments, creams, medications, lotions, and potions, and she would have been worth it! But I was able to save not only money, but also the risk of harmful side effects and the subtle long-term effects of adding chemicals to her already fragile system.

About the times that I rescued the mare, I started adding apple cider vinegar to my chickens’ water supply. In the past month, I have started noticing a marked improvement in their general appearance and their egg supply.

I realize that I have only seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the amazing uses of apple cider vinegar, but I cannot imagine going another day without it.
