Make Your Own Fish Fertiliser

1. Collect up any fish waste, these should include any species of fish, the head, tail, bones flesh and guts. They can be obtained from your local fishmonger.

2. Put this material into a large container ie 200lt drum and just cover with enough water to cover the entire contents.

3. Cover the mixture with sawdust, this helps to minimize the smell of the fermenting fish and keep flys away!

4. Leave outside in the open for a couple of weeks.

5. The contents will breakdown and will be ready to strain through a sieve, once you are left with the liquid, discard the waste material.

6. Mix the liquid with sufficient water as required to make a weak tea solution to which you can add a little natural soap, this acts as a wetting agent, so the fertiliser will stick to the foliage of the plant or soil better. Be careful as to dilute the liquid enough otherwise you may burn your plants! If this all sounds a bit smelly and a hassle, you could order some of our SWISH FISH FERTILISER from this website.
